Basixally Energy Assessments (BEA) commenced in July 2005 when BASIX NSW Certificates were made a mandatory requirement for all new dwellings in NSW.  

Ian Ferguson is the Managing Director of BEA.

Accredited National House Energy Scheme (NatHERS) Assessor

Ian is an accredited National House Energy Scheme (NatHERS) assessor with over 18 years extensive experience in all forms of residential assessment.

A member of the Association of Building Sustainability Assessors (ABSA), Ian is accredited to use BERS Pro Plus software for developments in all States. 

To maintain his accreditation, he has completed all the relevant courses and maintains the specific insurances and Code of Practice.

He also complies with all the Continuing Professional Development obligations, keeping up to speed with the latest developments in his field. 

With his experience, BEA have has developed sound understanding of the building thermal performance regulations including for the BASIX NSW and regulations of the Building Code of Australia (BCA) relevant for the remainder of Australia. 

Prior to 2005 Ian had been busy completing NatHERS Assessments for new dwellings.

Our customers are Australia-wide. From our office located in the Shoalhaven we have assessed and completed over 2000 Energy Efficiency Assessments throughout Australia for residential developments since 2002.

Ian’s family has been actively involved in the residential building industry in the Shoalhaven & South Coast area for more than 60 years. All aspects from design stage through to final certification services have been covered.

Ian Ferguson, as the Accredited Assessor, issues the BASIX & NatHERS Certificates and advises the various stakeholders at each stage of the process.

Rhonda manages Clerical and Administration. She keeps the business on track and keeps Ian on schedule.

This blog is for those who want to sew a patchwork quilt but have no idea where to start and too afraid (intimidated) to ask how. She wanted to create a space of beauty with easy to understand information. A place for like-minded folks to come together to learn and to swap ideas and hints.
